I have chosen to work directly with clients on a fee-for-service basis. This means that I do not bill insurance companies for you, but collect my fees directly from you at the time of service.
Sometimes insurance companies will allow their members to submit invoices from out-of-network providers for reimbursement. See "Submitting invoices to your insurance company" below.
Advantages of fee for service over insurance reimbursement:
Diagnoses that are required to be submitted to an insurance company become a permanent part of a client's medical history. At times those diagnoses can impact clients in unexpected ways.
The advantage of paying out of pocket for your own services means that your history is completely private.
Base rate charged / sliding scale
The base rate is $140 per 50 minute session. You may qualify for a lower rate based on income. I have a sliding scale that will accommodate most people's budgets and allow them to finish the work they start in therapy. Feel free to click this link to request information about the sliding fee schedule. click here to email me.
Submitting invoices to your insurance company
At a client's request I will furnish a copy of an invoice for services rendered, with appropriate information about diagnosis, treatment, etc. It is the responsibility of the client to submit any and all paperwork to their insurance company to request reimbursement for therapy. Some insurance companies will reimburse expenses for out-of-network providers, others will not. You may wish to check with your insurance company prior to scheduling an appointment.
